The 2018 Pansy Brunch for the Houston Alumnae Chapter was held on Saturday, April 22 at Brennan's in downtown Houston. The event had a great turnout and was a morning full of sisterhood and fun. Our Pansy Brunch event co-chairs, Louise Mohle and Kelsey Warden did an amazing job coordinating the event and selected a delicious brunch menu.
The Pansy Brunch is an opportunity for the chapter to conduct a chapter-wide meeting before the end of the Houston Alumnae Chapter calendar year. Outgoing Administrative President Amber Vaughn called the meeting to order and reminded attendees that the new membership forms were now available online and physical copies would be arriving in everyone's mailbox in the next few weeks. Several amendments were presented and approved by the chapter to the Houston Alumnae Chapter Bylaws as well.
Houston Tri Delta Philanthropies, Inc., the fundraising arm of the Houston Tri Delta Alumnae Chapter, announced that they presented a check for $220,000 to Texas Children's Cancer Center last week, thanks to the continued success of the SALE. Since the SALE's initial event in 2015, Houston Tri Delta Philanthropies, Inc. has raised over $700,000 for local pediatric oncology! If you haven't been to the SALE, save the date for the 2019 event - which will take place on January 12 - 13, 2019 at the Bayou City Events Center and benefit M.D. Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital.
The meeting ended with an introduction and approval of the 2018-2019 slate. We are so excited for the upcoming year and cannot wait to serve the chapter!
