Legacy Information
What exactly is a legacy? Legacies are daughters or sisters of Tri Delta initiates.
The Houston Alumnae Chapter processes legacy information through the membership form. If you have not joined the Tri Delta Houston Alumnae, simply go to the Membership Information page and join online or download a membership form. There is a spot on each to enter legacy data. Once you are in our database through membership, the Houston Alumnae helps ensure that you and your daughter stay up-to-date on recruitment information once she is a junior in high school.
During recruitment, each collegiate chapter and each sorority handles legacies differently and therefore should be contacted regarding their particular policies. Although they are generally extended a certain level of courtesy, it is never associated with a guaranteed bid.
The Houston Chapter hosts two events each year for legacies of a certain age. The Pine Party is held each year around the Christmas holidays and is held primarily in honor of current Tri Delta collegians and their mothers. High school junior and senior legacies and their mothers are also invited. A casual social event is also held each year in the late spring for legacies.
Houston Panhellenic hosts a Recruitment Roundtable each spring for mothers and daughters to encourage participation in the recruitment and membership recruitment process, to educate prospective new members and to answer questions regarding the women's fraternity system. More information is available on the Panhellenic page and the Houston Area Panhellenic Association website, www.houston-panhellenic.org.
