Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Association (HAPA)

In 1929 the Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Association (HAPA) was organized and became affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference. The Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Association promotes fraternity life through service to the community and the mutual, deep friendship of individual sororities and Panhellenic life.

Long before collaboration became popular, 21 women's fraternities partnered to form HAPA. These women established a sorority system based on education, leadership, achievement, and philanthropy. Today, HAPA's membership tips the scales at more than 4,500.

Every year the Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Association sponsors Recruitment Roundtable. The purpose of this annual recruitment/membership information event is to encourage participation in the Recruitment/Membership process, to educate prospective new members and to answer questions regarding the women's fraternity system.

The Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Foundation was founded in 1987 in memory of Anna K. Chase, Delta Zeta, the first President of the Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Association (HAPA). Scholarships were given long before the dream of establishing a Foundation was realized. The non-profit Foundation is HAPA's philanthropic arm, raising much-needed scholarship funds.

The Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Foundation fulfills its purposes by hosting a fund-raising luncheon each spring through donations from individuals and companies. The proceeds support scholarships for deserving young collegians. All dues paying Tri Deltas are welcome to attend.
